I thought I’d share this for all the NES and retro gaming fans out there.
Over on YouTube I subscribe to Ray William Johnson’s =3 channel because, like over 4 million other subscribers, I think he’s pretty damn funny. Ray is also a pretty big Nintendo fan.
That geek gamer love shows on Ray’s other YouTube channel, Yourfavoritemartians where he, his friends, and their fake cartoon band make some very funny comedy songs. They also go through the trouble of creating animated music videos to go with each song. They generally parody pop-culture and life in general. Stay with me here because I AM going somewhere with this. Their latest video features Hoodie Allen and is called “8-BIT WORLD”. It is loaded with some pretty brilliant references to popular old school NES games and other 8-bit video games.
You’ll hear some pretty cool references to Tetris, Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, Paperboy, Megaman, Pac-man, and many other classics. I could waste my time trying to explain how they manage to work an amazing amount of 8-bit jokes into a 3:30 song, or you could just watch the video below!
